What are E-Cards & Dedications?
E-Cards and Dedications are tools that allow donors to make a charitable contribution in honor or memory of someone and share that sentiment with a personalized message. Whether it’s a birthday, holiday, memorial, or special life event, supporters can select the appropriate tribute type and send a message that adds emotional resonance to their gift.
Organizations can customize the donor experience by enabling one or more tribute options:
Dedications: Allow donors to add a dedication type (e.g., “In honor of,” “In memory of”) and a custom message with their donation.
E-Cards: Let donors send a personalized digital card to a recipient, with organization-approved designs and optional templated language for seasonal or cause-specific campaigns.
Mail Cards: For organizations that offer physical mailings, Goodworld can prompt donors to provide recipient address details so a card can be mailed on their behalf.
Note: E-Cards are distinct from GiveCards, which are charitable gift cards that recipients can redeem at a charity of their choice.
Customizing the Dedication Experience
Admins can tailor the dedication flow to suit their campaign goals and audience needs:
Tribute Types
Choose from standard dedication types: “In honor of,” “In memory of,” or “In celebration of.”
Add custom tribute types to match campaign themes or seasonal messages.
E-Card Options
Card Design: Upload custom images for E-Cards based on your organization’s brand, a holiday (e.g., Giving Tuesday, Mother’s Day), or a special campaign.
Message Templates: Include pre-written text donors can personalize, making the process quick and meaningful.
Card Name Customization: Change the name “E-Card” to something seasonal or branded (e.g., “Holiday Card,” “Tree of Life Tribute”).
Mail Card Support
For organizations that send physical tribute cards:
Enable Mail Card as a delivery option.
Solicit recipient name, mailing address, and any message or tribute note the donor would like included.
Donor Flow
Select Dedication Type: Donor chooses a tribute option and writes a personalized message.
Choose Delivery Method: Donor selects between E-Card (email) or mail card (if enabled).
Send or Submit: E-Cards are sent immediately after the donation; mail card info is saved for fulfillment by the organization.
E-Card and Dedication Reporting
Admins can monitor dedication and E-Card activity via the campaign reporting dashboard:
See how many donors selected each tribute type.
View E-Card delivery status (sent, bounced, or opened).
Export tribute messages and recipient information via CSV for follow-up or fulfillment.

E-Card Holiday Campaign
