What are GiveCards?
GiveCards are charitable gift cards that allow recipients to redeem funds at organizations or funds of their choice. These digital gift cards can be purchased in bulk and distributed to a wide audience, making them an excellent tool for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, employee recognition programs, and donor engagement campaigns.
For example, a company could purchase 10,000 GiveCards valued at $10 each and email them to its entire employee base. Each employee would receive an email containing their $10 GiveCard, which they could redeem for a program supported by a partner organization, such as United Way or other charitable agencies designated by the campaign. Administrators can control and restrict the beneficiaries of GiveCards at the campaign level, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Additionally, the platform encourages recipients to contribute their own funds during the redemption process, amplifying the impact of each GiveCard.
Enabling GiveCards in a Campaign
Admins can enable GiveCards within a campaign by following these steps:
Navigate to the Features tab within the Campaign.
Toggle the GiveCards feature on.
Click Customize to modify the purchase and redemption flow of a GiveCard.
Access the Usage tab to view detailed reports of redeemed GiveCards and funds allocated.
Customizing the GiveCard experience
Admins have several customization options to tailor the GiveCard experience:
Call to Action
Name: Change the title of "GiveCards" to match the organization's branding or purpose.
Description: Craft a tailored description to inform purchasers about the concept and benefits of GiveCards.
Type Selection
Admins can choose how GiveCards are accessed:
Public Link: Shareable via URL.
Email: Sent directly to recipients.
If only one type is selected, this step will be skipped during the setup.
Select Amount
Suggested Amounts: Define the suggested values displayed to purchasers.
Display Options: Toggle settings for displaying the Logo, Amount, and Label recipients.
GiveCard Image: Upload a custom image to represent the GiveCard.
Message
Personalize the following elements for GiveCard communications:
Subject line and message template.
Redemption and purchase URLs.
Reminder emails for unredeemed GiveCards.
GiveCard Redemption Flow
Receiving a GiveCard: Recipients receive their GiveCard via email.
Choosing a Nonprofit: Recipients select from the nonprofits or funds supported by the campaign.
Confirmation: After redeeming their GiveCard, recipients receive an email confirmation. Admins can customize this email in the Communications tab.
GiveCard Redemption Reporting
Admins can monitor GiveCard activity and performance in the GiveCards tab:
View total redeemed GiveCards and redemption rates.
Identify the top nonprofits selected by recipients.
Use the Export CSV feature to download detailed reports on activity and recipients.
Utilize the search bar to filter results by designation, source, or contact.
Managing Leftover GiveCards
Unredeemed GiveCard funds are redistributed proportionally among the nonprofits or funds selected by other recipients who redeemed their GiveCards. This mechanism ensures all funds are allocated to meaningful causes.
