The Rewards & Recognition feature allows organizations to celebrate donors for their ongoing commitment and cumulative giving. Unlike Giving Levels—which focus on what the donor is funding—Rewards & Recognition focuses on what the donor earns for their generosity over time.

This feature turns giving into a journey, helping donors feel valued, seen, and motivated to continue contributing.

Key Features

Achievement-Based Recognition

Rewards donors based on cumulative or annual giving thresholds. Examples include:

  • Leadership Circles (e.g., Founders Club or Presidential Circle)

  • Major Donor Societies (e.g., United Way’s Tocqueville Society for donors giving $10,000+)

Automated Badges

When donors reach a milestone, digital badges appear on their profile—either publicly or internally—acknowledging their achievements.

Triggered Communications

Automatically send personalized messages congratulating donors when they achieve a new tier or recognition level.

Reward Triggers

Admins can configure tangible or digital rewards—like swag, gift cards, or special event invitations—that donors receive upon qualifying.

Ongoing Engagement

By recognizing progress over time, Rewards & Recognition encourages consistent giving and strengthens donor loyalty.

How to Set Up Rewards & Recognition

  1. Navigate to the Rewards tab in platform settings

Open the Rewards tab within the Settings of the platform.

  2. Create a new reward

Add giving thresholds (e.g., $1,000, $5,000, $10,000) and name each tier (e.g., Silver, Gold, Platinum).

  3. Assign Badges or Rewards

Choose how donors will be recognized—visually through badges or tangibly through gifts or invitations. These can be added on a campaign by campaign basis.

  4. Set Communication Triggers

Enable automated messages to notify donors when they reach a new recognition level.

United Way Leadership Giving Use Case

A local United Way chapter uses Rewards & Recognition to honor donors who reach leadership milestones:

  • Tocqueville Society: $10,000+ annual giving

  • Leaders Circle: $5,000+ annual giving

When donors hit these milestones, they automatically receive congratulatory emails and recognition badges on their donor profiles, strengthening their connection to the organization.

Rewards & Recognition transforms generosity into an experience of belonging. By celebrating milestones and loyalty, nonprofits can inspire donors to give consistently, increase retention, and nurture a deeper sense of purpose and pride in their impact.
