Goodworld’s Checkout Survey feature enables organizations to gather valuable information from supporters—after they’ve completed a transaction, whether that’s a donation, event ticket purchase, or volunteer registration. These surveys appear immediately after the confirmation screen, helping you enrich user profiles and personalize future engagement without disrupting the conversion flow.

Whether you want to capture contact information, learn how people discovered your event, or understand volunteer motivations, this feature makes it easy to collect the data you need—at exactly the right moment, while protecting conversion.

Key Features

Seamless Post-Checkout Experience

  • Once a donor completes their transaction, they’re automatically presented with a follow-up survey—keeping the engagement going without affecting conversion rates.

Custom Data Fields for Any Engagement Type

  • Collect a range of supporter insights, including:

    • Contact details like address or phone number

    • Communication preferences and newsletter opt-ins

    • Philanthropic interests

    • Responses to “How did you hear about us?” and other discovery questions

    • Accessibility or dietary needs for events

  • All fields are customizable, allowing you to gather exactly what matters most to your organization.

Easy Configuration

  • Admins can easily enable and customize the post-confirmation survey from within each campaign.

  • The survey integrates seamlessly with your Custom Attributes setup, so the data you collect feeds directly into user profiles for future segmentation and reporting.

How to Enable a Checkout Survey

Setting up a post-checkout survey is quick and intuitive:

  1. Navigate to the Campaign’s Features Tab

Head to the admin dashboard and select the campaign where you want to collect survey data.

  2. Customize the User ID & Data Settings

In the Features tab, click Customize under “User ID & Data.”

  3. Enable Post-Confirmation Survey

Toggle on the setting labeled “Enable post-confirmation survey.”

  4. Configure the Survey Fields

Go to the Settings tab of your campaign and open the Custom Attributes section. Here you can:

  • Add dropdowns, short answer fields, checkboxes, or multiple-choice questions

  • Assign each field a category (e.g., “Philanthropic Interest”)

  • Control which fields are displayed post-checkout

Save your changes, and your survey will go live immediately for all future transactions.

New Donor Discovery Use Case

Let’s say your organization just completed a Giving Day campaign and saw a spike in first-time donors. With checkout surveys enabled, you collected the following:

  • How they heard about your campaign (social media, newsletter, friend referral, etc.)

  • Their top areas of philanthropic interest (e.g., Food Access, Youth Programs)

  • Whether they’d like to receive updates about future opportunities

With this data in hand, your team can segment these new donors by interest and send them targeted content and impact updates that match their preferences—building stronger relationships from day one.

Ticket Purchase Use Case

Let’s say your organization is hosting an annual benefit gala and ticket sales are coming in steadily. With checkout surveys enabled for ticket purchases, you collected the following:

  • Attendee dietary restrictions and accessibility needs

  • Names and affiliations of additional guests

  • How attendees heard about the event (friend, email, corporate sponsor, etc.)

  • Interest in future event invites or sponsorship opportunities

With this data in hand, your team can personalize guest communications, optimize event logistics, and identify your most effective marketing channels—while also cultivating future supporters and sponsors.

Volunteer Experience Optimization Use Case

Imagine you’ve launched a city-wide Day of Service with volunteers signing up for different shifts. After enabling checkout surveys for volunteer sign-ups, you collected the following:

  • Volunteer experience level and preferred types of activites

  • Emergency contact and t-shirt size

  • Availability for future service opportunities

  • Interest in joining a long-term volunteer cohort

With this data in hand, your team can better plan for day-of logistics, ensure appropriate role assignments, and build a pipeline of engaged volunteers who are more likely to return for future initiatives.

Key Benefits

Smarter Segmentation

  • Collect the information you need to personalize communications and nurture relationships based on interest, location, or giving intent.

No Impact on Conversion

  • The survey appears after the transaction is complete, preserving the simplicity of your check-out process.

Save Time & Automate Data Collection

  • Eliminate manual follow-ups by capturing key information right away—automatically populating user profiles in your CRM.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Gain insight into supporter behavior, referral sources, and demographics that help shape your outreach and fundraising strategies.

Goodworld’s checkout surveys give you a smart, unobtrusive way to learn more about your community—helping you engage the right people, with the right message, at the right time.
