Transactions made on behalf of organizations refer to any donation, event ticket purchase, or sponsorship that is attributed to a company or institution, rather than an individual. This feature is particularly useful when working with corporate donors, event sponsors, or institutions purchasing group tickets.
Whether a company is sponsoring an event, buying a table, or making a philanthropic donation, their contribution can be properly tracked in your dashboard—separate from the individual completing the payment.
How to make a transaction on behalf of an organization
Purchasers can complete a transaction on behalf of a business or institution directly in the checkout flow:
Select Quantity for Tickets or Sponsorships
During the ticket or sponsorship purchase process, users input the number of items they’d like to purchase. For example, organizations can make a purchase of several tables at an event or a group of tickets.
Check the “Make Purchase on Behalf of an Organization” Box
Below the quantity field, there is a checkbox labeled “Make purchase on behalf of an organization.” When selected, the platform will prompt the user to enter the organization’s name.Enter the Organization Name
As the user types, the system will automatically fetch and suggest any existing organizations already in your platform.
If it’s a new organization, a new record will be created.
Complete the Transaction
Once the purchase is submitted, the transaction is attributed to the organization, not the individual making the payment.
Corporate Sponsorships Use Case
Imagine you’re hosting an annual awards gala. A staff member from a corporation purchases a sponsorship package and ten event tickets using their personal email address. Instead of attributing the transaction to the individual, they check the “Make purchase on behalf of an organization” box and enter “GreenTech Solutions” in the form. The platform ensures the transaction is logged under the company, not the purchaser—giving your team accurate insights into corporate support.
Where these transactions appear
Company Tab: All transactions made on behalf of a business or institution will appear in the Company tab of your admin dashboard in the Activity feed. This view gives you a centralized list of organizations that have engaged with your campaigns or events.
Donations Tab & Events Tab: Transactions will also show up in the relevant Donations or Events tabs, clearly labeled with the organization name and separated from individual donor activity.
