Goodworld’s Activity Feed is a powerful engagement tool that displays real-time updates tied to your campaign—including donations, fundraisers, teams, and supported programs. Whether embedded on a fundraising page or shown live at an event, the Activity Feed keeps supporters informed and inspired, fueling a sense of momentum and collective impact.

What is the Activity Feed?

The Activity Feed is a customizable widget in Goodworld’s Content Management System (CMS) that surfaces dynamic updates on campaign engagement. Updates occur every four seconds and can reflect a range of tracked activities such as:

  • Recent donations

  • Top donors

  • Leading fundraisers

  • Top teams

  • Most-supported nonprofits or funds

Designed to support gamification and storytelling, the Activity Feed can be embedded on any campaign page—including peer-to-peer events, live donation drives, and workplace giving hubs.

Trackable Activity Types

Each Activity Feed is tied to a specific campaign and can include one or more of the following data types:

Nonprofits / Funds

Displays the top supported nonprofits or designated funds within a workplace giving or multi-beneficiary campaign. This allows users to see where donations are flowing in real time, creating transparency and competition among causes.

Fundraisers

Showcases the highest-performing individual fundraisers within a peer-to-peer campaign or event. This encourages personal fundraising and lets participants track their ranking.

Teams

Highlights top fundraising teams based on the amount raised. Especially effective for walkathons, school fundraisers, or workplace challenges, this view fosters friendly competition.

Recent Donations

Displays a live stream of incoming donations including donor names (when not anonymous), donation messages, and time of donation. This energizes campaigns with visible momentum and encourages more giving.

Top Donors

Recognizes individuals who have made the largest contributions to the campaign. This leaderboard can spark generosity among high-capacity donors or friendly rivalries in giving challenges.

Adding an Activity Feed to a Page

To add the Activity Feed widget to any campaign or event page:

  1. Click the plus (+) icon on the right side of the campaign page to open the widget menu.

  2. Locate the Activity widget.

  3. Click and drag the Activity widget to your desired location on the page.

Customization Options

Admins can tailor the look and behavior of the Activity Feed:

  • Display Settings: Choose to hide donation amounts or dates for privacy or aesthetic purposes.

  • Headers and Text: Customize section headers, text alignment, and style to match your campaign’s branding.

  • Row Count: Set how many rows of activity should be displayed at a time for each trackable activity type.

Use Cases for Activity Feed

Workplace Giving Campaigns

A company running a giving challenge can display the Top Nonprofits supported by employees on a live dashboard or campaign landing page. This promotes transparency and encourages employees to support trending causes. It also fosters a sense of community among a workplace by allowing employees to learn about what their peers care about.

Peer-to-Peer Events

A nonprofit hosting a marathon or walk can enable Top Fundraisers and Top Teams views to inspire participants to compete for top spots. This creates a spirited and social atmosphere that drives more fundraising.

In-Event Donation Displays

During a gala, livestream, or telethon-style fundraiser, an organization can use the Recent Donations or Top Donors view as a live display to highlight the outpouring of support. This real-time feedback energizes the room and prompts further giving from attendees.
